Rethinking Participation is OSCA’s ongoing series of 2-day artist led think tanks and responsive research gatherings. These collegial assemblies, invite local and regional emerging and established First Nations and South Australian artists to come together to discuss their practices which focus on the creation of participatory and socially engaged artistic outcomes.
The first iteration in 2022 was attended by 14 artists who were invited to to step back from production outcomes and come together to reflect, share and consider new ways of working. The next series of gatherings with 16 artists is taking place over 23/24 in partnership with Carclew and Flinders University Assemblage research centre for creative arts. Assemblage is Flinders University’s research centre for artistic enquiry and art creation, led by Director Tully Barnett.
