BESTOWED

PROJECT: BESTOWED is a socially engaged project by Cynthia Schwertsik. It explores the burden of unwanted gifts and the social and practical complexities involved in their bestowing, receiving and discarding whilst experimenting with rituals of disposal as a public service. Bestowed asks people to engage in conversation about objects they have been given that they also no longer want to keep. It aims to unravel the complexities and expectations of gifts that they may want to get rid of but have not felt comfortable to do so or found the right way to part with. Till now!

LOCATION: Adelaide Hills
