GUITARCHESTRA will generate an unprecedented opportunity for a range of individuals to participate in the creation and performance of new experimental music.
A unique celebration of popular culture’s obsession with electric guitar, Guitarchestra is the latest in a series of large-scale, community-based works by composer Matthew Timmis. Matthew’s other projects have included a re-scoring of the classic silent film Nosferatu and Car-cophony, a performance piece for 12 cars and their stereos which appeared at the 2013 Sydney Festival.
Here are some examples of the parts each player will need to practice before the day. Please have a look at the explanation page too.
This project is co-funded by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and the Adelaide Guitar Festival.
