Matthew John Plummer

Matthew discovered a love for performing arts at an early age studying Classical Ballet RAD from the age of ten and attending the Australian Ballet School at 17, also completing a 3rd year in Contemporary Dance and Adelaide’s Centre of Performing Arts. Dance was his main employment performing within Opera, Ballet, Contemporary and Physical theatre companies including The Australian Opera, State Opera of South Australia, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Footnote Dance Company and Newmet Physical Theatre. In 2007 Matthews focus shifted to peforming with puppets and, in working with Kneehigh Puppets and Events, creating Giant Puppets, Fire Sculptures and Inflatable Art, though still working Freelance as a Dancer. Matthew worked with Snuff Puppets on the production Everybody in 2012, with Kneehigh/Open Space in the work A KneeHowling, was commissioned to create a puppet for The Blobfish with Gaia Theatre for 2013 and was a lead artist on 2013 Monsters’s Project for Woodford Folk Festival.
