Boris is a founder and director of Soma-CG, a film, motion graphics and visual effects company started in 1999. He studied Design at UNSW, Digital Cinematography at AFTRS & Advanced Character Animation with Disney Feature Animator Murray Debus.

From his first film ‚ SOMA, shown at the Sydney Film Festival in 2005, he began directing and animating video clips for bands such as The Vines, Evermore, the Howling Bells, Operator Please and Sparkadia, incorporating visual effects, animation and live footage to create a unique style. He has directed and led visual effects teams on countless television commercials and broadcast projects since founding Soma-CG.

His last two film projects have been ‚Tortuga‚ that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2009 and ‚The Conquest‚ which premiered at Sundance film festival in 2010 and is AustraliaS first stereoscopic 3D film. Both films were included in the 2010 Sydney Film Festival Program. The Turtle‚ a dramatisation of the effects of plastic bags on Turtle populations was recently awarded ‚Best Film 2012 at the Korean Expo by The World Buddhist Supreme Tathagata Followers Peace Foundation.

In 2010 Boris migrated his practice toward live projects, integrating his knowledge of visual effects and the sophisticated technology associated with the process, to the rigours of live performance. He participated in 2010 residencies at Fraser Studios, Performance Space, The Centre of Performance Studies at The University of Sydney and Legs on the Wall, developing works that incorporate film and visual effects with dance and aerial performance. He also participated in the 2010 ArtsNSW Artists in Schools program, working with children in Bidwill to devise and film a documentary and develop a play about their lives.

In 2011 he was Lead Media Artist and Community Facillitator for The Book of Risings project in Korea and the Stars From Below creative development with WELL, Video Artist for Legs on the Wall for their Brisbane Festival Production of Beautiful Noise  Audio Visual Collaborator with Synergy Percussion on their Tales from the City show, along with various developments and residencies throughout the year.

In 2012 he travelled to New York with Karen Therese to present The Comfort Zone: a performance lecture was Video Artist and Lighting co-designer for Victoria Hunt Copper Promises: Hinhemihi Haka and Video and Visual Artist for Strings Attached. In June he travelled to the Northern Territory for three months to create a film through animation, video and sound that explored the influences and inspirations of various local Indigenous musicians and their place in their communities. Boris was artist in residence at OSCA in 2013/14 developing his interactive light installations.
