ALISON CURRIE

Alison Currie makes and performs dance. Her major works include: I Can Relate commissioned as part of ‘24 Frames Per Second’ by Carriageworks 2015 and presented with live performance component at ACE Open 2017, ‘Things Meeting Now’ Co-created with Bridget Currie and performed as part of ‘Versus Rodin’ at the Art Gallery of South Australia 2017 and at Roehampton University London 2015, ‘Drawing Machine’ Co-created with Michael Hurley for Acts Re-acts 2 at Wimbledon Space London 2015, ‘Build, Hold, Destroy’ commissioned as part of Window World by Adelaide Fringe 2013, ‘Solo’ commissioned as part of Return to Sender at Performance Space 2011, Three ways to hold co-created with Bridget Currie SASA Gallery 2010, National tour ‘42a’ 2010 and Adelaide season 2008, THE MAIN EVENT co-directed with Solon Ulbrich AC Arts 2009, Bedroom Dancing with director Steve Mayhew for Restless Dance Theatre at Comeout 09 – recipient Outstanding Achievement in Youth and Community Dance 2010 Australian Dance Awards. Alison was mentored by Solon Ulbrich and Amanda Phillips on various projects between 2004 – 2008 and was an intern with The Builders Association a media and performance company in New York 2005.

She has a Mres Choreography and Performance 2015, BA Dance Performance 2003.
